What changes when you run SAP in Mexico
Mexico has one of the strictest e-invoicing regimes in the world. These are the points a global template almost never covers out of the box.
E-invoicing
Every invoice, credit note and complement must be stamped by an authorized provider (PAC) and follow SAT catalogs.
Payment complement
Invoices on credit require an additional CFDI when collected, tied to payment application in SAP.
Electronic accounting
Chart of accounts mapped to the SAT grouping code and a monthly trial balance in XML format.
DIOT
Report of operations with suppliers based on the VAT actually paid.
Carta Porte
Mandatory complement for moving goods within the country.
IMMEX
Temporary import and inventory control for companies under the IMMEX program.

Mexico roll-out FAQ
How long does a roll-out to Mexico take?
It depends on the scope and the number of company codes and plants. A roll-out of one company code with finance and logistics usually takes 4 to 8 months; in the fit-gap we give you a plan with dates.
Can you work alongside our global integrator?
Yes. We often join as the Mexico localization team for the global integrator or for the corporate in-house SAP team.
What do we need ready in Mexico?
The legal entity with its RFC (tax ID) and tax regime, the digital seal certificate (CSD) for invoicing and a contracted certification provider (PAC). We cover the system side and coordinate with your tax advisors.
